Dr . Mohammed Al-Masri, Executive Director of the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (ACRPS), visited Istanbul 29 Mayıs University. The visit aimed to further strengthen the longstanding ties and strategic partnership between the two institutions and followed a productive meeting held last February in Doha, Qatar, where Dr. Ibrahim Helalşah, Director of the School of Foreign Languages at Istanbul 29 Mayıs University, met with ACRPS Director General Dr. Azmi Bishara at the Center’s headquarters.
During the discussions, the two institutions agreed to pursue a wide range of joint academic and scientific initiatives, particularly in the field of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. Key areas of cooperation include developing modern Arabic language curricula for both print and digital platforms, compiling specialized dictionaries tailored to the needs of learners of Arabic as a foreign language, designing an internationally recognized Arabic proficiency examination, and establishing common reference frameworks to promote consistency and standardization in language teaching.
During his visit, Dr. Mohammed Al-Masri also met with Dr. Tayyar Altıkulaç, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul 29 Mayıs University. The meeting included an exchange of gifts on behalf of the two institutions, as well as detailed discussions on future opportunities for cooperation and potential joint academic projects.
As a further step in advancing this partnership and expanding its academic and regional impact, the two sides agreed to hold their next meeting in Doha, Qatar. The visit concluded successfully, marking another step toward strengthening institutional cooperation and developing joint initiatives.
